We have been waiting a long time for this episode. The Maine State of Mind welcomes Abe Furth, Co-Owner of Orono Brewing, to the podcast for a fun episode.

Furth, along with his partner Heather Furth and friends Asa Marsh-Sachs and Mark Horton, founded Orono Brewing in 2014 in a small brewery downtown Orono, Maine.

The brewery has grown from their little 4-barrel brewhouse and 8-barrel fermentors on Main Street to their current 20-barrel brewhouse and headquarters on Margin Street. OBC beer is now available in Maine, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, New York, Florida, Arizona, California and France.

Orono Brewing was the second company founded by the group of friends, Woodman’s Brew Pub opened in 2005 and is located in Downtown Orono, Maine.

To add to the fun at Orono Brewing, the crew decided to launch a new company in 2021 to bring an exciting product to the market. Wild Maine Hard Seltzer hit shelves in Maine in June 2021 with three flavors: Lemonade, Blueberry and Mango-Pineapple.

Additionally, Furth announced on June 1, 2021 he is running for State Senate in the Penobscot District 5 to replace Senator James Dill, when his term is up.

Justin Soderberg, host of The Maine State of Mind, works as the General Manager and Graphic Designer of OBC and Wild Maine Hard Seltzer. Justin is going on five years with the company. Adam Morrisette is Orono Brewing’s line cleaner as well as part-time bartender at OBC’s Downtown Bangor location.
